Thursday, February 17th (Odd Day)

6th:  Get ready to put on your Sherlock Holmes hats and get down to some good old fashioned detective work!  Last week we learned about some new keyboard shortcuts (cut, copy and paste) and today we are going to be learning a lot more through trial and error.  In order to keep track of all of these shortcuts, you will be using the keyboard shortcut handout.  There will not be any homework for next class.

7th:  Company idea...done.  Company web...done.  What's next?  A logo of course!  We need to create a design that can be recognized worldwide but also be extremely simple and easy to create.  To start class, check out these logo ideas and select one as "the best" in your opinion.  Be prepared to share with a neighbor or the class why you picked that one.  What made it "good"?

After the warm-up activity, take a look at the Company Logo Assignment to see what we are going to be doing for the next few classes.  You will be working on part 1 today and if there is time after you complete the Word document, also previewing SumoPaint.  If you finish Part 1 you will need to save your work.  Your homework for the next class will be to check out Sumo Paint's YouTube channel and watching some of the tutorials.

8th:  Today in class we will be creating our Blogger account and layout in preparation for our first post.  The first step is to create an account with Blogger.  After you have logged into Blogger, you should customize your Blog.  Before you change the look and feel of your blog, think about how you will use your blog.  If you are writing about something serious and professional then you will want your colors and layout to reflect that.  If you are going to choose to write more laid back and conversational then you should create your colors and layout accordingly.  Don't worry if you're not exactly sure how you want it to look today, you can always go back and change it down the road.
