Monday, March 28th (Even Day)

6th:  Today we begin to learn a new Microsoft Office product called PowerPoint.  To get things started on the right note, I found a funny video about how NOT to use PowerPoint for your presentations.  We will also be taking some notes on PowerPoint basics and how you should use PowerPoint.  We will be having a quiz on these basics next week on Tuesday.

7th:   Today in class we will be making some changes to your computers that will allow us to work with HTML this semester.  There are several YouTube videos on our class channel that reinforce what we will be doing in class today.  After making those changes to our computers, we will be taking a look at the document structure tags for HTML and beginning our first page.  If time allows you will also get a chance to begin your homework which will be to read about HTML backgrounds.

Here are the changes we will be making to our computers:

8th:   To start class today, you will get the opportunity to share your completed web with a few of your neighbors in order to see what some of your peers have chosen for their digital story.  The next step after that is to take a look at the class-created characteristics of a digital story.  This will be our guiding light for our story and will also be how you are graded on your finished story.  Lastly, you will begin to layout your story using the digital storytelling storyboard in the 8th grade folder on the V drive.
